Laboratory of Advanced Batteries

The Laboratory of Advanced Batteries (LAB) is located at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering (FEQ) at UNICAMP and operates in the synthesis of functional materials, in the construction of electrodes, in the control over the morphology and composition of different electrodes and not design and manufacture of cells for batteries still under development (TRLs 1-3) within the so-called Beyond Li-Ion, that is, with the potential to become the next technological generation for energy storage.

​Our group has experience in the creation and testing of Li-Air and Li-S batteries, being a protagonist in the creation of patents on cells that allow the characterization of the materials during the operation of these batteries. Through the integration between basic science and the design of functional materials, LAB seeks to make this new generation of batteries viable by developing national technology and know-how.
